Victoria's 100 @ Mansfield
Canada's First 100 mile Mountain Bike Race. Fun and flowing single and double track with less than 1km of gravel road. Winding through some of the best trails in Southern Ontario, covering four properties, this course will be a blast. You will fly over a short start loop then do 2 laps for the 100 mile journey and 1 lap for the 80 km.
There will be roughly 750 meters of climbing per lap (2450 feet per lap)
Elevation Profile

Not sure if you can handle the full 100 miles? Try the 80 km, 20 km or 10 km race instead. Still want to take part in Canada's first 100 mile race but don't feel you have the fitness for a solo attempt? Why not try the 100 mile relay?
You and up to three friends can compete in the 4X40k relay on May 22. Start with the pack and hand off the "baton" at the second feed zone. The second feed zone is 500m away up a marked trail. The second hand-off will be at the start finish line as the third rider heads out for the start of the second lap. And everyone can head up to the 6th feed zone to cheer on the fourth rider as they head out for the final leg. Check out the course map at the bottom of this page to make sense of it all.
Victoria's 100 will start at 7 am on Sunday May 22, 2011. The 80km event will start at the same time. There will be a 1 km start loop then into the single track. Things open up again at the 3 km mark and you will spend the rest of the day in and out of single track. The trails are sand based and hold up to water very well. Popular tires for locals are Kenda Small Block and Continental Race King. Some sections of trail are much faster in a little rain. Just watch out for the roots.
Feed stations: There are 7 feed stations for the 100 mile event which will be well stocked with water, Hammer Nutrition products and some sandwiches (peanut butter and banana seem to be popular) along with a set of allen keys, a floor pump and some tubes(thanks to Norco) and Finish Line had provided some Dry Lube and Wet Lube. There is no outside support during the race. Only tools and parts available to all riders are to be used unless carried on you.
The feed zones 1, 2, 4 (the start finish line feed) 5 and 6 are a short walk/ride from the start finish line. Spectators are able to travel to these stations to feed and cheer.
Feed zone Drop off: You can drop off a small bag for each feed zone (try to make it easy for our volunteers!!!) on Saturday or Sunday morning before 6:15 at registration. We will try to keep it cool for you.
Feed Zone 3/7: Drop off closes at 5:45 Sunday Morning. Please drop off your bottles the night before. It is out in the woods and the volunteers are heading out at 6am and waiting for you.
***While we will do our best to bring all items back from the feed zones in a timely manner we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items left at a feed zone. If you can't afford another pair of $500 sunglasses you should probably keep them in your pocket.
The race is 20 minutes south of Collingwood, 15 minutes from Orangeville and Alliston. There is lots to do for family and support crew including riding, hiking, camping and shopping.
Volunteers: Do you want to help this exciting event happen? Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. Just drop us a line and let us know. Volunteers will be able to ride in the 10k or 20k event and participate in the post ride BBQ email : info@substanceprojects.com
Most of the trails are on public land and will be marked well in advance. All riders are asked to respect the rights of private property owners and stay off them while pre-riding. The Homage to Ice will utilize some of these trails and will be a great warm up event for anyone wanting to test their early season fitness.
The trails on public land will be open for public use during the event. There will be signage in advance to notify other users but keep your head up and remember to be careful with horses. If you encounter a horse you must stop and pull your bike off the trail to allow them to pass. Be sure to talk to the horseman as you approach.
There is no current cap on registration.
