Cycling is not just our passion – it’s our world view.
Substance Projects has been putting on cycling events since 2008 and has garnered a lot of accolades doing it.
For us, the world would be a better place if everyone rode a bike at least three times a week. Maybe you might think that sounds kinda out there, but at Substance Projects it’s our guiding principle.
Cycling equals *magic*. (Say it with a breathy whisper and wiggle your fingers to get the right effect.) It has the power to improve health, boosts moods, foster community, reconnect us with our environment, perhaps even help redeem human existence on planet Earth (or is that taking it too far?).
Basically, our events aim to get people outside and active and to leave our trails and communities a little better for it.
Our events are about riding. You can ride to race, you can ride to just have a good time with friends, you can ride to try something new. Whatever way you do it, it’ll be great. Magic on, my friends.
These are races for everyone! In the spirit of equity and inclusion we celebrate difference and especially encourage those who have historically been excluded from sport, including but not limited to trans, non-binary, two-spirit, gender non-conforming, intersex, agender and other non-cisgender racers. Suffice to say, we don’t tolerate any other forms of discrimination or oppression whether it be racism, sexism, cissexism, homophobia, disablism, classism, or sanism. We’re here to support each other, build camaraderie, and have fun.’
